I went camping over labor day weekend with my dad, Kristin, Sarah, Collin and Alec. My dad let me tag along with him in his trailer. Danny couldn't go because he wasn't feeling well and he didn't have enough PTO. It wasn't the same with out him but it was still a lot of fun.
Day 1.
Day 1.
We got to our camp site that we have been camping at every year for so long. We get all set up and the first thing I do every time is hike the little mountain right behind our camp.
It has such a beautiful view up there and it's a very easy hike. It's not a very big mountain so there isn't too much to explore unfortunately but it is home.
Then Sarah and I went exploring on the side by side and we found a cool area kinda far from our camp. It was a big wash where it looked like a river used to be.
Then we came back and got the others and showed them this place and walked further down the river bed.
These are actually my favorite pictures I took down there. I can't wait to go back with Danny and show him this spot!
Then for dinner we had a dutch oven meal with roast and potatoes.
Day 2:
I went on a ride with my dad and we saw deer and lots of donkeys.
My dad told me this was an old farmer tool in the 1930's and that this could of been in the desert since about the 50's. There is so much history here it is so cool. It is such an ancient place.
Then we all (except my dad) took a ride to the Indian writings.
This ride was a ton of fun!!And it was absolutely gorgeous over there!!!!
I also went on a ride by myself and I actually spooked myself. I didn't bring headphones so it was dead silent and I walked a ways from my side by side and got spooked. I even took a video of it! I'll link it soon.
Day 3:
We went on another long ride. We went to the arch and just explored around the desert some more.
I also went hunting with my dad, Sarah and Alec. We went to a few watering holes to try and catch some doves.
Through out the entire trip, because it was so hot we sat around the trailer a lot during the hot afternoons.
Day 4:
The last day there we went on one last long ride. We went to the old mine and the abandoned car again. Then we went riding pretty far down into the swells.
I also did a watercolor painting of a deer while I was down there. My dad wants it to hang in his trailer.
I will work on uploading the videos I took down there to YouTube and I will link them here. :)
I hope you all had a good labor day weekend!
